On Revena you see who's on the start line, give a chapeau after a good time and challenge a mate. That only works if everyone behaves in a sporting way. These rules are part of Revena's terms.
What we like to see
Cheering each other on. A chapeau after a good time. Tips about a course. A photo of your club at the start, if everyone in it is happy with that.
What isn't allowed
- Hate and bullying. Don't mock, insult or threaten anyone, for who they are or for their time.
- Spam and advertising. No selling, no links to shops, no chain messages.
- Photos of other people without their permission. And never a photo of someone else's child.
- Other people's details. No addresses, phone numbers or email addresses of anyone else.
- Pretending to be someone else. Not as a club or an organiser either.
- Reselling tickets for more than you paid. The law forbids it.
- Anything that breaks the law. Such as offering banned substances or calling for violence.
- Fake results or times. A self-recorded time is a self-recorded time, and you say so.
What you choose yourself
Everything is private by default. For each part you choose who sees it: only you, your friends or everyone. You're only friends once the other person confirms.
Revena has no private messages. So nobody can send you something the rest can't see.
Anyone under 16 never has a public profile and never appears in the rankings.
Reporting
Every post, every comment and every profile has a Report button. You can also report through the Report page, without an account.
This is how it works:
- You choose why you're reporting, and briefly write what's wrong.
- You get a confirmation straight away.
- A person at Revena looks at your report, usually within two working days. If someone is in danger, immediately.
- You hear what we decided, and why.
The person who was reported doesn't find out who reported them.
What we can do
Depending on how serious it is:
- hide or remove a post or comment;
- set a profile to private for a while;
- stop someone posting for a while;
- suspend or close an account, for something serious or if it keeps happening.
If we take action against something of yours, you get an email with:
- what we did, and for how long;
- which post, comment or profile it's about;
- which rule or which law it breaks, and why we think so;
- whether we spotted it ourselves or someone reported it;
- whether a computer was involved. Revena doesn't use automatic filters to remove posts: a person decides;
- how to object.
Objecting
If you don't agree with a decision, whether you reported it or were reported, reply to the email or write to hallo@revena.be. You can do that up to six months after the decision. Someone who wasn't involved in the decision looks at it again. You hear the outcome within 14 days.
If you still don't agree, you can go to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body for online platforms, or to court.
